The ever important question of whether to hire a 2nd photographer
This is a tough question, and one that you should think over.
Wedding events, especially Indian Weddings tend to be fast-paced, so the two photographers you hire will need to communicate clearly, quickly and often with one another. I work in the capacity as Sandeep’s dependable second shooter. You get both sets of our creative eyes capturing your event. Sandeep and I are in 2 different places at all times getting different angles, and a little more energy from us since we are both there sharing the work load, working seamlessly to ensure that the entire event gets optimal coverage. Together, we both work as one unit executing the job and delivering gorgeous results.
The main thing to consider when deciding a Second Photographer is how large your event will be? We normally suggest that if you are going to have over 100 guests, two photographers is the way to go. This takes in to account how many contra-distinctive moments will be happening simultaneously, and the amount of people needing coverage.
It is also important to know the difference between a second photographer/shooter and an assistant. An assistant will help the photographer carry and manage the equipment. A second photographer will shoot the entire event, and should be on the same or at least a close level photographically speaking.
Sandeep and I work as a team. This makes a big difference in regards to the timing and flow, and how your images will look together. For instance when Sandeep spends a lot of time taking Creative portraits of the Bride and Groom, I concentrate on people and details. We know exactly where the other one is and we are shooting without even speaking to one another. We also see the world very differently, but the images integrate well when put together, creating a comprehensive Photo-journalistic record of your Special day, so that you can enjoy your day with a peace of mind. We hope this information helps.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. If you have any other questions about hiring a Second photographer, please let us know.
