Why is a 2nd Photographer important for your wedding?

The ever important question of whether to hire a 2nd photographer

This is a tough question, and one that you should think over.

Wedding events, especially Indian Weddings tend to be fast-paced, so the two photographers you hire will need to communicate clearly, quickly and often with one another. I work in the capacity as Sandeep’s dependable second shooter. You get both sets of our creative eyes capturing your event. Sandeep and I are in 2 different places at all times getting different angles, and a little more energy from us since we are both there sharing the work load, working seamlessly to ensure that the entire event gets optimal coverage. Together, we both work as one unit executing the job and delivering gorgeous results.

The main thing to consider when deciding a Second Photographer is how large your event will be? We normally suggest that if you are going to have over 100 guests, two photographers is the way to go. This takes in to account how many contra-distinctive moments will be happening simultaneously, and the amount of people needing coverage.

It is also important to know the difference between a second photographer/shooter and an assistant. An assistant will help the photographer carry and manage the equipment. A second photographer will shoot the entire event, and should be on the same or at least a close level photographically speaking.

Sandeep and I work as a team. This makes a big difference in regards to the timing and flow, and how your images will look together. For instance when Sandeep spends a lot of time taking Creative portraits of the Bride and Groom, I concentrate on people and details. We know exactly where the other one is and we are shooting without even speaking to one another. We also see the world very differently, but the images integrate well when put together, creating a comprehensive Photo-journalistic record of your Special day, so that you can enjoy your day with a peace of mind. We hope this information helps.

Ultimately, the decision is yours. If you have any other questions about hiring a Second photographer, please let us know.

Jigna’s Baby Shower – Jigna and Vijay

Images captured by Shilpa Ingale

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nAs promised, here are the pictures from Jigna’92s Baby Shower:\r\n \r\nGod Bharai Rasam is a Hindu ritual done when a woman is pregnant. God Bharai is to invoke God’92s blessing for the Mommy-to-be with a healthy baby in her arms. ’91Rasam’92 basically means ritual. This is when the family gives blessing to the pregnant mommy-to-be and blessing for the well-being of the baby. \r\n\r\nJigna and Vijay are a very special couple and they have been blessed with a baby on the way. I am so happy I got to be a part of their baby shower. This baby shower was so much fun!!! This couple is surrounded by loving family and the coolest friends ever, who made sure everything at the shower was perfect. The party was held at the Clinton Manor in Union NJ. The place was tastefully decorated. Vijay, I suspect knows the baby’92s sex and yet keeps Jigna guessing. It’92s going to be a surprise for her! I have never seen more animated participation by all the family and guests in the games that were played, especially the guys. It was a blast!!! I leave you with some favorite images from the party.\r\n\r\nThey had 2 priests evoke blessings for the happy Dad-’91n-Mom to be. The center pieces were colorful diaper cake arrangements. The cake was a work of art. They had a custom built (the only one of its kind!) Cake comprising a Coach-Tote-bag with a Monkey Cake that just rocked!\r\nThere was a questionnaire on each seat. The entire party was meant to be an interactive to keep the fun factor with the tradition. There was music by DJ Hemant from Volkanik, games, good food, and lots of cake as it turned out there were 3 special people celebrating their birthday on this day. Jigna’92s brother, Vijay’92s cousin and the Priest who represented Vijay’92s family! Everything was pastel colored and fun. Jigna happily awaits the arrival of her baby, knowing that he or she will be loved by so many people. The baby will have to wear a new outfit at least three times a day for her first year of life. There were so many custom creations of onesies.Congratulations Jigna and Vijay. I had a great time at the shower and I can’92t wait to meet the baby!\r\n

Jigna’s Images from Maternity shoot…

\r\n\r\nJigna and Vijay are two people I can never say ‘No’ to..\r\n\r\nWhen Vijay asked me if I could do Maternity shots for them, i agreed right away!\r\n\r\nSome of my most memorable photographs are from their E-session and Wedding Reception.\r\n\r\nI wanted to be a part of this wonderful couple’s happy time.\r\n\r\nWhat struck me most was how radiant and mature Jigna looked in a role as Pro-creator.\r\n\r\nVijay is clearly ‘star struck’ as he seems to be radiating ‘I am going to be the best-dad-ever’ all the time!\r\n\r\n(PS:I have been there…so, i know how that feels : )\r\n\r\nWe chose to shoot in the private and warm comforts of their home.\r\n\r\nI had a very pretty chandelier that highlighted Jigna’s radiance,a very inviting red-wall that i used with my new fav: soft-box and Q-flash!\r\n\r\nMaternity portraits can’t be any different than regular portraits ’96 and by ’93regular’94, I mean pretty mommy-to-be’s who are not carrying 20-50 extra pounds around their belly (besides the swagger, indigestion and shift in center-of-gravity!)\r\n\r\nI applied a few tricks like off-lighting and have made an earnest attempt to create the mommy and daddy-to-be’s pictures something they’d cherish a lifetime.\r\n\r\nThey had their 7th month ‘Goad Bharaai’ ceremony commonly called ‘baby-shower’ today.\r\n\r\nI shall post a few pics soon.\r\n
